Woman Successfully Claims Bus Injury Compensation

A 23-year-old Dublin woman has successfully claimed bus injury compensation after she hit her head on the roof of a Dublin Bus when it mounted a speed ramp too quickly in the grounds of Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown in April 2006.

The injury left Ciara Whelan from Drumcondra, Dublin unable to catch her breath or speak in the immediate aftermath of the event. Mr Justice John Quirke at the High Court was told that she was hospitalised for eight ays and had to wear a neck brace for three months.

The judge awarded the victim €121,493 in bus injury compensation.
